Sales Policy

If you have an interest in buying a goat from us, reach out so we can talk about the needs and desires to improve or supplement your herd. We like to be transparent with our herd and will give advice based on the strengths and weaknesses of all of our goats.

When the buyer has come to a decision on what buck or does they’d like to reserve a kid from, we require a 10% deposit. If the breeding that was chosen does not occur due to unforeseen reasons, you can either accept the new pairing or get the 10% deposit refunded. Additionally, once the kids are on the ground, you will have an option to have the pick of the litter for an additional 30% of the total agreed purchase price. Otherwise, we will choose the kid that we think will fit your needs the best. The remaining cost of the kid will need to be paid in full at 2 weeks of age. The kid will need to be picked up by the end of the 3rd week. If the buyer would like the kid to remain in our care, we offer boarding until the kid is weaned for an $30 per week. If a does you are interested in is listed as “waitlist only,” you can fill out the reservation/waitlist request form to be added to that does waitlist at no cost. Preference will be given to performance herds.

The does that are due to kid will get CD-T 30 days prior to kidding. The kids will get CD-T at disbudding and 30 days after. Our kids get disbudded between 4 to 10 days old. We start the kids on coccidia prevention on day 5 after birth with Calf Pro. Every three weeks, we also treat our kids with Sulfamed until they are 15 weeks old. We bottle-feed our kids until they are about 30 pounds, typically around 20 weeks. We weigh our kids on a weekly basis to make sure they are developing at a proper rate.

If the kid does not meet your needs, we require first right of refusal on all kids. We have the right to retain any kid but the deposit will either be fully refunded or transferred to a different kid or the next kidding reservation. No refund will be given if the client cancels their reservation after the deposit is made.

We stand behind our herd and if any genetic or degenerative defects show up within the first year, we will offer a replacement goat in their place of equal value. We will require veterinary documentation of the animals defect and the animal must be tested for contagious disease prior to returning to our farm. Animals will have papers pulled and placed into pet homes or put to rest depending on the defects. We take genetic defects very seriously and believe these animals should not contribute to the breed’s future.

We also do reservations on yearly cuts and mature does, these goats are not “culls.” Any cull goats will be sold as an unregistered goat as a home milker or pet. Upon adult goats making it on the sales list, a 50% deposit is required and paid in full by pick up. All adult goats will be videoed so the buyer understands their strengths and weaknesses prior to making their deposit.

To make a reservation, you can fill out the reservation/waitlist request form or contact us via the ICE Acres facebook page messenger.
